Reverend Dr. Wallace V. Powell Jr. is a native of Guildford County, born in Greensboro, North Carolina. He presently resides in La Vista, NE with his wife, Lorraine A. Powell, and family. He is the son of the late Reverend Wallace V. and Shirley Powell.

 

Pastor Powell was educated in the Guildford County Public School System. He attended Shaw University for a Bachelor of Arts in Religion and Philosophy, Shaw University. Master of Divinity, Colorado Christian University, Masters in Mental Health Counseling, Doctorate of Theology, North Central Theological Seminary.

 

Pastor Powell was born to serve. Pastor Powell served honorably for 20 years in the United States Navy. During his tenure, he received numerous awards and commendations. Pastor Powell served in Operation Desert Storm, DesertShield, and Iraqi Freedom War.

 

Pastor Powell received the call to preach in 1989. where he was licensed at the Calvary Baptist Church, High Point, NC. He was ordained into The Gospel Ministry at Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church, Pass Christian, MS in 1995. His mission is to glorify God by preaching the Gospel and cultivating growth and maturity in Christ.

 

Pastor Powell is a community involved where he has served as Head JV Football Coach at Andrews High School in High Point, NC. He has served as Head track coach at Andrews High School, Welborn Middle School, and Head football coach at Penn Griffin Middle School, High Point, NC. He is currently employed with Omaha Public School System, Omaha, NE. He is also the chaplain for Greater Love Ministerial Alliance, Omaha, NE. He also has served as the Vice-President of Clergy in the Cherrystone Baptist Association.
